Bellmont to offer SMAs through Hub24

Boutique portfolio manager Bellmont Securities will offer two separately managed account (SMA) model portfolios through the Hub24 platform.
Bellmont’s Core Equities and Buy-Write portfolios were previously available through Linear, but Bellmont director David Montuoro said that he was “excited” about Hub24 because of “the growth they have gone through over the last few months. They’ve been winning over a large number of advisers, managers and they have seen huge growth in their [funds under management].”
Bellmont intends to add its SMA portfolios to other platforms, including netwealth, over time.
“We’re looking to roll out these SMA offerings across different platform providers, albeit slowly,” director Peter Bell said.
Speaking about the virtues of SMAs, Bell added, “they offer the simplicity of a managed fund and at the same time provide the transparency and effectiveness of a direct equities account.”
“At the end of the day I believe what is in the best interests of clients will ultimately come to the forefront of the market, despite the take-up of various managed account structures having been somewhat slow to date.”
